What Is Iggie’s House?
Iggie’s House is about finding a “place” – an emotional place of confidence and self-empowerment- where you can share and where you are nurtured. A place where you can access information; connect with mentors and like minds. A place where you can feel safe to express your thoughts, raise questions and get advice in the pursuit of your educational and career path while bettering your community. Iggie’s House was created as a non-profit, non-partisan 501 c 3 organization in memory of Nia Renee’ Robertson, a graceful spirit, a giving heart, a beautiful soul… Its mission is to encourage communication and dialogue among young people of all races and cultures.
Iggie’s House will keep Nia’s spirit alive by mentoring and encouraging our youth to develop leadership skills, build confidence, and engage in collective endeavors toward the betterment of their community. The result is that they will secure their own future and find their rightful place in tomorrow’s world.
The foundation’s goals are to promote diversity through communications; to create cross-cultural experiences and to provide scholarship funding to a high school or college student who embodies these goals.
Come on in! The doors are ALWAYS open at Iggie’s House.
