Marvel M. Robertson

President

Marvel M. Robertson is a native of New Orleans who currently resides part-time in Alexandria, Virginia. She is a graduate of Dillard University where she majored in Sociology.  Ms. Robertson also attended the University of New Orleans studying Urban Planning and Administration. Robertson later received certification in Community Building from Harvard University, John Kennedy School Of Government. She recently retired from the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) having served as the Field Office Director for the HUD New Orleans Office and Senior Analyst in Washington D.C.   Ms. Robertson currently is a contract consultant to the Alexandria Redevelopment and Housing Authority. She is committed to family and education and is passionate about career coaching and creating opportunities to foster diversity among people of all races and cultures. 

Dr. Corey A. Robertson, DDS

Vice President

Dr. Robertson is a native of New Orleans who resides in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He is a graduate of the Xavier University of New Orleans and earned his doctoral degree in Dentistry from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee. Dr. Robertson has a well-established practice in the Baton Rouge area and practices general dentistry and also owns and operates Affordable Dentures. Dr. Robertson currently is a member of several civic and social organizations in both New Orleans and Baton Rouge including the Young Men Illinois and Zulu Social Aid and Pleasure Club. He participates annually in school career fairs and volunteers his dentistry services for local health fairs.

Jeffrey “Jeff” Bromberg

Treasurer

Jeff Bromberger grew up as a native of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania but now calls New Orleans home. He came to the city of New Orleans to pursue his college education where he graduated from Tulane University in the field of business and marketing. He is an entrepreneur at heart and even while at Tulane he began laying the groundwork for his future life and career as a business owner. Jeff is the founder and owner of Sleeping Giant Enterprises. He loves the music industry and produces entertainment as well as owns two music venues, The Maison and the Hi-Lo Lounge in New Orleans French Quarter District. He is a very giving person and his passion is family, friends, entertainment and of course, he is an avid Pittsburg Steeler fan.

Elizabeth Martin Gant

Board Member

Ms. Gant is a veteran Special Education Teacher with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Dillard University. She has over thirty years of teaching experience with an array of certifications in Special Education. She currently serves as the Grade Chairperson of the Special Education Department at Alice Birney Elementary School, Metairie, La. Ms. Gant is a devoted Mother and grandmother who places emphasis on family and education.

Yvette M. Henry

Board Member

A native of New Orleans, Louisiana Yvette Martin Henry is a graduate of Xavier University. She holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting and is a Supervisory Auditor with the Department of Interior – Office of Natural Resources Revenue. Yvette currently lives in Sugarland, TX. and is actively involved with the Jack and Jill of America’s – Missouri City-Sugar Land Chapter. She especially values family, is married to Alvin Henry with two children and is committed to community service to others.

Toya Brown-Robertson

Board Member

Toya Brown-Robertson is a native New Orleanian and a graduate of University of Louisiana at Lafayette (formerly USL- University of Southwestern Louisiana), where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Insurance and Risk Management with a minor in Finance. She is currently employed at Entergy as a Senior Human Resources Representative responsible for the administration of employee benefits plans. Toya was awarded the designation of Qualified 401(k) Administrator in 2008 from the American Society of Pension Professionals & Actuaries and is currently pursuing the Certified Employee Benefits Specialist designation awarded by the Wharton School of Business. She is committed to promoting diversity and inclusion and supporting the collegiate success of the younger generation. She is married to Doug Robertson and has a nine-year-old daughter, Yanci. While she loves spending time with her family and friends, her passions are: music, event planning, professional sports and traveling.
